The Dunn Family In
1868, Josiah Marlin Dunn and Josephine Augusta Jackson married. They had
several children, one of whom was Leura Mary Dunn. Leura married Benjamin
Simmons (son of Travis Simmons). They also had several children, one of them
being Margaret Simmons, my grandmother. She married Emeris Carleton Watson,
my grandfather. They were married for more than 50 years and had seven
children, and numerous grandchildren, one of them being me, Alison McMillan
Chappell. That’s my branch of the Dunn family, but not my only tie to
Old Scotland. My father is a descendant of the Rev. Neill and Mary McMIllan.
My mother and father actually met at Old Scotland when she was 15 and he was
